Facebook acquires a company specializing in identity verification to secure user accounts
In the last few hours, the media has reported that the social networking site Facebook officially acquired a company that specializes in verifying official identities on the Internet, and Facebook, according to experts behind the move, aims to secure user accounts on its platform.
"Confirm", established in 2015 in Boston, is an emerging company that specializes in verifying official identities on the Internet such as identity card, driver's license or passport, and has developed a technology for this purpose.
Facebook is trying through this acquisition deal, which did not announce the amount of protection of its users from piracy by verifying their hobby by providing their official data, as well as fighting the phenomenon of false accounts created by some for various purposes, where the site launched a war on this phenomenon since Duration and developed a set of methods and techniques in order to do so.
